The 185 cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine mounted on a light and strong semi-double cradle type pipe frame produced a maximum output of 18 ps. It consisted of an expansion chamber, new cylinder and head, piston, thin rings, larger carburetor, and much lower gearing. The TS185s were great bikes, solid and reliable and pretty bulletproof. The 175 size was to match an established class. The 250 is 62 lb (28 kg) heavier than the 185. Seat is good and useable. In the North American market a 175cc race kit was available for the TS185. The new Suzuki 185 cc bike, made for both road and off-road use, was called TS185 Sierra in USA and Hustler 185 in Japan. Different gearing was available for most models.
